Yeskey Consulting (Yc) is a privately held consulting and investment firm which is managed by Dennis based upon his 40+ years experience in the management consulting and real estate industries. Yc has three major operating groups: Yeskey Consulting (Yc), Yeskey Real Estate Consulting (Yrec) and Yeskey Investments (Yi).
Yc is focused on general management consulting with a heavy emphasis on developing new business strategies, operational improvements along with M&A/due diligence and restructuring/re-organization projects. This is the main operating group where Dennis has gained significant experience throughout his 40 year business career. This highlights his most recent projects, his leadership roles at Deloitte globally along with his intense consulting experiences at Kenneth Leventhal and Company, PWC and A.T. Kearney across the United States, Europe and Asia, particularly Japan.
Most importantly, Dennis has demonstrated a unique ability to develop strong and successful professional service practices (PSPs). He accomplished this most recently at Deloitte/Deloitte Consulting where he was credited with turning around and leading Deloitte’s New York based Real Estate Practice along with Deloitte’s National Real Estate Capital Markets Practice. Prior to Deloitte, he spearheaded the development of Kenneth Leventhal and Co’s Insurance based Real Estate Practice, and also developed successful PSPs in Business Strategy and Operations at PWC and A.T. Kearney.
Yeskey Real Estate Consulting
Yeskey Real Estate Consulting (Yrec) is a core competency of Yc and one that Dennis has developed continuously. From his engineering education and work experience through numerous real estate valuation/re-organization projects, Dennis has systematically developed an outstanding skill set that has been recognized in the market place over the past several decades. Most recently, after founding Yrec in 2009, he has assisted numerous real estate and private equity clients evaluate issues with real estate investments. At AlixPartners, he was appointed Global Head of the Real Estate Restructuring Practice where he assisted the firm in various real estate re-organizations, as well as marketing all of AlixPartners services.
As the National Partner of Deloitte’s Real Estate Capital Markets Practice (1995-2009), Dennis represented many of the leading real estate investors, both across the U.S. and globally. In 1995, he was recruited by Deloitte’s Chairman to head the New York Office’s Real Estate Services Profit Center and was responsible for restructuring and developing Real Estate into one of the leading Practices in this arena with annual growth exceeding 25 percent and a staff of over 250 professionals. In 2000, he was promoted to Group Managing Partner of Deloitte’s Real Estate, Investment Management, Private Equity and Insurance based Practices in the New York Office, a practice that grew to over 1000 professionals.
Dennis directed the Firm’s Financial Services marketing and eminence building activities, including initiating a targeted national accounts program with focus on J.P. Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and GE. In addition, he played a key real estate leadership role for Deloitte’s National and Global Financial Services and was extremely active in the European and Asian Practices, having both lived and worked in these regions
Prior to Deloitte, from 1986 to 1995, Dennis developed and led the successful Insurance based Real Estate Practice as a Partner and Practice Leader at Kenneth Leventhal & Company, the premier real estate restructuring firm in the United States at the time. Initially, as a partner, he supported numerous major workouts and restructurings such as, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, O&Y, The Trump Organization, DeBartolo and Mellon Bank. Beginning in 1990, he initiated and led this new practice within KL&Co, focused on assisting institutional lenders and developers such as Travelers, Prudential, TIAA, NY Life and Turner Construction.
He began his professional consulting career at A.T. Kearney (1977-1982) after receiving his MBA from Columbia Business School, rising to a Senior Manager before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers (1982-1986) where he became a Director/Partner Candidate. In both of these firms, he developed PSPs focused primarily on assisting clients with their business and capital strategies along with operational improvements. During this 10 year period, Dennis gained invaluable global experience having lived and worked extensively in Europe and Japan. All of these experiences were buttressed by his engineering education and working at two engineering firms that specialized in solving difficult design and construction issues.
Yeskey Investments (Yi) is the most recent new operation within Yc. Yi is the culmination of a lifetime interest in financial investment combined with his heavy general management consulting and real estate experience. Throughout his career, Dennis has built an extensive research/investment operation which focuses on identifying public and private investments for clients along with financial advisory engagements.
Over the course of his distinguished 40-year career, Dennis has worked with dozens of financial advisory clients include Apollo, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, O’Connor Capital, GE, Starwood Capital, TIAA, New York Life, Turner Construction, and the New York Common Fund as well as investors such as JMB, VMS, Bank of Tokyo, Brookfield, Confederation Life, Deutsche Bank, ING, KKR, Lazard Frères, Lehman Brothers, Lend Lease, Morgan Stanley, Paramount, Sentinel, and Malkin Properties.
In addition, Dennis has been involved in numerous high-profile workouts, restructurings, and reorganizations, including Travelers Life, Rockefeller Center, Mutual Benefit, Prudential, DeBartolo, Bally’s, The Trump Organization, Olympia & York, Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, E-II Holdings, Mellon Bank and AT&T/Bell System. He has also worked with several government agencies in dealing with troubled assets, such as the US Resolution Trust Corporation, the FDIC, and the US Post Office, as well as with Japanese and UK government entities as well.
His core competency is business strategy and operations, where he has also a rich history of assisting non-Real Estate clients such as Citibank, DuPont, Michelin, Mars and Rockwell International in the United States, along with European clients including Boehringer-Ingelheim, Danfoss and the Italian Government.
Dennis holds an MBA in finance from Columbia University. He also holds both bachelors and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering, where he was presented the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007. He has also been an active member of The Real Estate Roundtable, the Pension Real Estate Association, and the Lincoln Center Real Estate Council. He continues his active affiliation with The Urban Land Institute where he serves as a ULI Foundation Governor, appointed in 2008. Dennis is also a frequent speaker and contributor at conferences, both in the U.S. and Europe, such as the Information Management Network and RealShare, AFIRE, IRETO, CPN and Cityscape.
