Utilizing his 40 years of business and investment experience, especially in commercial real estate, Dennis recently formed a new company -- Yeskey Consulting (Yc).
Yc was formed in 2009 after his retirement as a National Partner of Deloitte & Touche/ Deloitte Consulting, where he was recognized as a leader in the firm's real estate and financial services/capital markets practices since 1995. Yc assists clients in developing successful business, capital and operational strategies to find, analyze and invest in profitable real estate and real estate related opportunities. An experienced practitioner, Dennis has served AlixPartners as a Senior Advisor and Head of the Real Estate Re Structuring Practice.
Yc is a privately held consulting and investment firm. Yc specializes in real estate
consulting and investing in unique real estate, real estate related and other specialty investments, principally in the USA.
Professional Highlights
As the National Partner of Deloitte’s Real Estate Capital Markets Practice, Dennis represented many of the leading real estate investors, both across the U.S. and globally. In 1995, he was recruited by Deloitte’s Chairman to head the New York Office’s Real Estate Services Profit Center and was responsible for restructuring and developing Real Estate into one of the leading Practices in this arena with annual growth exceeding 25 percent and a staff of over 250 professionals. In 2000, he was promoted to Group Managing Partner of Deloitte’s Real Estate, Investment Management, Private Equity and Insurance based Practices in the New York Office, a practice that grew to over 1000 professionals.
Dennis directed the Firm’s Financial Services marketing and eminence building activities, including initiating a targeted national accounts program with focus on J.P. Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and GE. In addition, he played a key real estate leadership role for Deloitte’s National and Global Financial Services and was extremely active in the European and Asian Practices, having both lived and worked in these regions
Prior to Deloitte, from 1986 to 1995, Dennis developed and led a successful real estate practice as a partner at Kenneth Leventhal & Company, the premier real estate restructuring firm in the United States at the time. Initially, as a partner, he supported numerous major workouts and restructurings such as, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, O&Y, The Trump Organization, DeBartolo and Mellon Bank. Beginning in 1990, he initiated and led a new practice within KL&Co, focused on assisting institutional lenders and developers such as Travelers, Prudential, TIAA, NY Life and Turner Construction.
He began his career at A.T. Kearney and PricewaterhouseCoopers, along with working at two engineering firms that specialized in solving difficult design and construction issues.
At PWC and A.T. Kearney he specialized in business strategy and operation assignments across the USA as well as assignments in Europe and Japan.
Client Experience
Over the course of his distinguished 40-year career, Dennis has worked with dozens of financial advisory clients include Apollo, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, O’Connor Capital, GE, Starwood Capital, TIAA, New York Life, Turner Construction, and the New York Common Fund as well as investors such as JMB, VMS, Bank of Tokyo, Brookfield, Confederation Life, Deutsche Bank, ING, KKR, Lazard Frères, Lehman Brothers, Lend Lease, Morgan Stanley, Paramount, Sentinel, and Malkin Properties.
In addition, Dennis has been involved in numerous high-profile workouts, restructurings, and reorganizations, including Travelers Life, Rockefeller Center, Mutual Benefit, Prudential, DeBartolo, Bally’s, The Trump Organization, Olympia & York, Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, E-II Holdings, Mellon Bank and AT&T/Bell System. He has also worked with several government agencies in dealing with troubled assets, such as the US Resolution Trust Corporation, the FDIC, and the US Post Office, as well as with Japanese and UK government entities as well.
His core competency is business strategy and operations, where he has also a rich history of assisting non-Real Estate clients such as Citibank, DuPont, Michelin, Mars and Rockwell International in the United States, along with European clients including Boehringer-Ingelheim, Danfoss and the Italian Government.
Affiliations
Dennis holds an MBA in finance from Columbia University. He also holds both bachelors and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering, where he was presented the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007. He is an active member of The Real Estate Roundtable, the Pension Real Estate Association, and The Urban Land Institute, for which he became ULI Foundation Governor in 2008, along with the Lincoln Center Real Estate Council. Dennis is also a frequent speaker and contributor at conferences, both in the U.S. and Europe, such as the Information Management Network and RealShare, AFIRE, IRETO, CPN and Cityscape.
Research and Reports
Most importantly Dennis developed, over the last 20 years, an investment research operation and authored numerous reports and thought leadership publications. Dennis has a proven passion for cutting edge research, taking a macro look at the economy while focusing on capital markets and commercial real estate investment issues.
